REBUILDING AFTER DORIAN—
As you know, Hurricane Dorian has caused catastrophic damage to the Bahamas - leaving the people of Bahamas in a serious time of need. The majority of these people not only lost their homes they lost their boats, their businesses, and their livelihood. This reality will prove difficult for thousands of families in the coming months, but the more pressing issue is what will happen to them in the days and weeks ahead.
The NY Times reports that an estimated 60,000 people on the islands will need food and clean drinking water, as well as other necessities for hygiene and daily living. In the words of the Bahamas Prime Minister "we are in the midst of a historic tragedy. The damage is unprecedented and extensive".
While there are numerous ways to help, we have selected to partner with organizations that have are deploying clear, transparent relief efforts.
How can you help?
SUPPLIES: We are putting together supplies to send to an approved site for transport to the Bahamas that need it the most and could use your support. We are doing a supplies transport with partners who will be flying the supplies directly to the Bahamas. SaltBlock Team Members will be available to pick up supplies within the Tampa Bay area anytime this week, until Monday (9/16). See supplies list below
DONATE: Don’t have the time to get supplies? We are coordinating a Sams Club order with any donated funds for those individuals who don’t have the time but want to get involved. See donate button below.
FUND PAGE: While there are many Go-Fund Me pages associated with relief from hurricane Dorian, we’ve selected a single group who is making impactful progress in funding the rebuilding of the islands. See link below.
